Take a small box. Glue flaps in place using some white glue. Mark the bottom of the cat's body and its legs by drawing three sides of a rectangle at the bottom of the box. Create an identical rectangle on the opposite side of the box.
Turn the box so that the adjacent small panel is facing you. Repeat step 2 on this side and its opposite side, making sure that the upper edge of your rectangles are aligned. With all four sides marked with lines, you are now ready to cut the box into a cat's body. First, cut out the entire bottom panel. Then, cut along the lines on each side.
Draw a cat's head on cardboard. Now draw shoulders below the head and a rectangular tab at the bottom. Draw a tail. You can make it straight, curvy, or bushy.
Cut out the head and the tail. Glue them onto the box using some white glue. Once the glue is dry, paint your cat using acrylic paint. When the paint is dry, glue on a pair of wiggle eyes. Shape some cotton into two small ovals and glue them below the eyes. To add a nose, glue a small pompom, a round bead, or a circle made of craft foam or paper between the cotton ovals.
To add whiskers, cut six short strips from thin florist wire. Glue three strips onto each cotton oval. Add a cat collar if you like. Attach a small button on a piece of yarn or string. Tie the string around your cat's neck with the knot at its back. That's it! Your cat is ready.
