Using the marker, freehand draw five petal flowers of varying sizes on the burlap. You will need these three sizes for every burlap flower you make.
Use your pinking shears to cut inside the black lines. Pinking shears are great because they will naturally fray the burlap and create a softer edge.
Once your flowers are cut, make two small slits in the middle of each flower.
Stack one small, one medium and one large flower and thread a piece of yarn through the slits.
Tie a knot and trim the yarn to make a stamen. Scrunch each layer to create depth; otherwise the flowers will just lay flat.
