Fabric Styrofoam Balls

Steps
Step 1
To cover the large Styrofoam ball make 4” x 4” squares and for the smallest ball 3” x 3” squares. Unfold a square of fabric. Stick a pin in the center and push it into the Styrofoam ball.

Fold the fabric on top of the pin. Put the second pin a bit lower to secure the fabric on the Styrofoam ball. Fold one side of the fabric on the diagonal and fasten the edge with a pin. Similarly, Fold the other side of the fabric on the diagonal and fasten the edge with a pin.

Now you have the first triangle, repeat steps to cover the top of the Styrofoam ball with 4 triangles. Now for the second row of triangles. Place the fabric halfway between two of the sides of the triangles. As before, stick a pin in the center of the fabric square and push it into the Styrofoam ball. Fold the fabric on top of the pin. Put the second pin a bit lower to secure the fabric on the Styrofoam ball.

Fold both sides of the fabric on the diagonal and fasten the edges with pins. Repeat steps 8 to 10 to cover the ball and continue until half of the Styrofoam ball is cover. Here we use five rows of triangles.

Then cut the fabric that is excess of half of the ball. Add a few pins if necessary to ensure that all pieces of fabric are secured to the ball. Cover the same way the other half of the Styrofoam balls. Using glue, fix a ribbon to cover the edges of the fabric.
