In a humanitarian gesture, some police personnel in Palghar, Maharashtra pooled Rs. 21,000 to reward a physically challenged 17 years old tribal boy who wrote his class 10 exams with his feet and secured 75.4% marks. He is born without both the hands from Kallole village in Palghar. His father works as a security guard at a firm while his mother is a farm laborer. The boy's grit to study didn't let his disability and poor financial background came in the way. Recently Dhoda appeared for his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination, who studied at a government ashram school for tribals at Betegaon. The cops were moved by Dhoda's determination to invalidate his physical challenges. So they decided to pool money for his higher education. Pulghar's Additional Superintendent of Police Yogesh Chavan handed over the money to boy’s parents. Maharashtra Congress president Ashok Chavanlauded policemen gesture, who also assured to provide any further assistance required for his higher education. Parents of the Kalpesh who are emotionally overwhelmed were happy to receive the money.
