The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) will set up ‘Design University for Gaming’ in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. In this regard, UNESCO delegation has entered into an agreement with Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB). The Design University for Gaming will help UNESCO to develop edutech gaming in the state, with the target of providing 50,000 jobs in 10 years. For this UNESCO has requested the State Government to provide 100 acres of land in Visakhapatnam for developing the city as International Gaming and Digital Learning Hub. Gaming and IT giants like Ubisoft, Samsung, Microsoft etc are ready to establish their centers in Visakhapatnam. UNESCO is a UN organization that helps preserve historical and cultural sites worldwide. It is a special multi-country agency, formed in 1945 and based in France. It promotes literacy and sex education as well as improving gender equality in countries around the world. It is also known for recognizing world heritage sites and work to preserve cultural and heritage sites such as ancient ruins, villages and temples, and historic sites.
