Mirko Hanßen from Germany Hand skating enthusiast has rolled his way into the record books by achieving the record for the Fastest 50 m hand skating in just 8.55 seconds. On 16 November 2017Mirko's impressive feat was achieved in Bocholt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. For achieving the record Mirko used his trusty K2 Mach 100 skates. It was organized with the help of the city of Bocholt, and friends were invited to watch the attempt. At the start and finish line the time was measured with two light sensors, as well as with an old fashioned-tape measure and stopwatch. The attempt was driven by Mirko's desire to appear in Guinness World Records 2019. Four years ago Mirko's training for hand skating began, when he decided to take the next step in his skating and try it upside down. With a lot of tough training he learned more and more, for example to skate on one hand and to jump over a ramp. The sport requires a high level of physicality, and only with dedication and training can a person learn to maintain balance.
