The Indian cricket team won its maiden Test series in Australia by a 2-1 margin.India won matches in Adelaide and Melbourne and that was enough in the end for them to script a historic feat.The BCCI is extremely satisfied with the performance of Virat and Co. and in turn has decided to reward the players.Hand cash rewards of Rs. 15 lakh per match has been set by the BCCI for the players who featured in the playing XI.Meanwhile, the Indian cricket board will also give Rs. 7.5 lakh per match for the players who were on the bench.The coaching staff will also receive cash reward bonus of Rs. 25 lakh per match.The cricketers who were involved in all four Tests are set to benefit the most.Indian captain Virat Kohli alongside the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah played all the matches.These players will be bagging the highest amount. The non-coaching staff will also get rewards equivalent to their salary.India ought to thank senior batsman Cheteshwar Pujara for playing a decisive role in their victory.The 30-year-old scored 521 runs in the series. The BCCI could also be considering an upgrade of contract for the Test player.In the series for the Pujara's contribution the BCCI could now reward him and Pujara could be promoted to A-plus category.It is the first time India managed the feat since they began touring Australia in 1947-48. Consequently, Virat Kohli became the first Indian as well as the first Asian captain to win a Test series in Australia.
