Karnataka Education Minister Suryanarayana Suresh Kumar has announced that the schools in the state will be reopening from February 22, 2021, for the students of classes 6 to 8. The schools are reopening all across Karnataka, except for the Bengaluru district and Kerala border, where schools will only reopen for students of class 8. Meanwhile, those students who are coming from Kerala will have to produce COVID negative certificate to attend classes. The state government has already resumed the physical lessons for classes 10 and 12 in view of the upcoming board examinations. The education department is yet to decide on starting classes for students of first-to-fifth standards in primary schools across the southern state. The education department has also directed all schools to sanitise classes and maintain hygiene on the premises to prevent the virus spread.
