1. The country’s first indigenous semi-high speed engine-less train, Vande Bharat Express, has recently proved its technical excellence by completing the 1 lakh kilometres journey mark. 2. With this achievement, Indian Railways is now planning to manufacture more such rakes and run them on new routes across the country. 3. Recently, the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai manufactured the second rake of Vande Bharat Express.The new train is likely to be delivered to Delhi by the end of May. 4. In order to protect the train from stone pelting, the glass windows of the new train have been coated with special entry-spelling film. Also, to reduce the effect of noise inside the coach, the horn of the train has been placed at a different spot. 5. The first- Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express, manufactured under ‘Make in India’ initiative, was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the month of February, this year.
